Knox County and City Governments join the nation in mourning the death of the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford.
On Tuesday, January 2nd at 10:25 a.m., Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale and Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam conducted a moment of silence on the lawn of the City County Building to coincide with the beginning of the state funeral.
A closing prayer was delivered by Knox County Sheriff's Department Chaplain Larry Cash. Immediately following, a broadcast of the funeral can be viewed in the Main Assembly Room.
All City and County offices will be open Tuesday, January 2nd.
