KUB Lane Closures on Olive St., Kingston Pk., W. Church Ave., W. Hill Ave., Stone Mill and Arden Dr.

Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on Olive St., Kingston Pike, W. Church Ave., Stone Mill Dr. and Arden Dr.

(East Knoxville) Olive Street Shifting Lane Closures [December 8-31] – KUB and its contractor will implement a series of shifting lane closures along sections of Olive Street between East Fifth Avenue and Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, weekdays, starting Tuesday, December 8, through Thursday, December 31, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Crews will shift work zones from area to area and lane closures will be implemented on only one side of the roadway at a time depending on which side of the roadway crews are working. Closures in both lanes will not occur at the same time. All lanes will be open outside of work hours, and on holidays and weekends. 
  
(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closure [December 8-11] – KUB and its contractor will close a short section of both the eastbound and westbound inside lanes of Kingston Pike between S. Gallaher View Road and Downtown West Boulevard from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily, Tuesday, December 8, through Friday, December 11, as work is performed on the natural gas and water distribution systems in the area. Crews will first close the eastbound lane, and then move to the westbound lane. Access to Bearden High School and all businesses within this area will be maintained.  

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – W. Church Avenue Road Closure [December 7-11] – KUB and its contractor will close W. Church Avenue between Locust Street and Walnut Street from  6 a.m., Monday, December 7, through  6 p.m., Friday, December 11, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. Alternate routes include W. Church Avenue, Walnut Street, Clinch Avenue, and Locust Street. Please see attached traffic map for more detailed traffic information.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – W. Hill Avenue & S. Gay Street Intersection Work [December 9-10] – KUB and its contractor will perform work in the W. Hill Avenue and S. Gay Street intersection from 6 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, through 6 p.m., Thursday, December 10, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. Southbound Gay Street between Main Street and W. Hill Avenue, and westbound Hill Avenue between S. Gay Street and Walnut Street, will be closed in conjunction with this work. All traffic will be directed northbound on S. Gay Street through the intersection.  Flagging personnel will be present. Alternate routes include S. Gay Street, Cumberland Avenue, and Locust Street. The BB&T Parking Garage exits will remain open at all times, and exiting traffic should follow the implemented traffic control plan. 
  
(West Knoxville) Stone Mill Drive & Arden Drive Lane Closures [December 7-11] – KUB crews will implement lane closures on short sections of the following roadways from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, December 7-11, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area: 
• Stone Mill drive between Robin Hood Road and the eastern intersection of Sherwood Drive 
• Arden Drive between Sherwood Drive and Stone Mill Drive 
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures, including flagmen, will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the area. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in this area.
