The City of Knoxville and Knox Planning staff have been collaborating on plans to eliminate barriers to the construction of what is known as “missing middle” housing, which includes townhomes, duplexes and other housing structures between the scales of single-family homes and mid-rise apartments.
A
study conducted by Opticos Design last year helped identify zoning code barriers, areas of town best suited for these kinds of housing, and recommendations specific to helping diversify Knoxville’s housing stock.
Residents can stop by any time during the events. City and Planning staff will be available to provide an overview, show examples, and answer questions.
