Posted: 12/06/2013
KUB will host a public meeting Monday, December 9, starting at 6 p.m. at the Sevier Heights Baptist Church Apex Room, 3232 Alcoa Highway, to discuss a major upcoming utility construction project in the South Knoxville area east of Alcoa Highway.

KUB is seeking customer input and participation in the planning stages for a project that will involve installing a high-pressure underground steel natural gas pipeline over a 10-mile corridor between the University of Tennessee campus and the Topside Road Natural Gas Gate Station.

The public meeting will start with a brief presentation outlining the scope of the project and the construction process. Following the presentation, KUB representatives will be available to talk with customers one-on-one regarding their specific concerns.

Construction on the pipeline is expected to start in summer 2014. The project is expected to be completed within a year.
