Mayor Bill Haslam has made the following appointments to City of Knoxville boards and commissions:
William E. Cole has been named to the Police Advisory and Review Committee. He is filling the unexpired term through June 30, 2005 of Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV.
Cole is retired from the FBI where he served as a special agent for 29 years conducting and supervising criminal investigations. He also served as Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team leader and coordinator in the Knoxville area, and served as a police instructor for law enforcement personnel. He currently is an investigative and security consultant.
Madeline A. Rogero was reappointed to the Knoxville Transportation Authority to serve a term ending Dec. 31, 2009.
Rogero, a former Knox County commissioner, is an organizational management consultant and facilitator with experience as a non-profit executive, urban and regional planner, and community leader.
John A. Sibley, appointed to the Knoxville Transportation Authority for a term ending Dec. 31, 2009.
Sibley is president of The Literacy Imperative Inc., an outreach ministry of Mount Zion Baptist Church, which provides books and other tools of literacy to underserved communities and creates social enterprises in support of that mission.
