Mayor Bill Haslam will be at Gerdau-Ameristeel at 11 a.m. Tuesday to mark a significant capital investment that retains 300 jobs at the Knoxville manufacturing facility.
Mayor Haslam and Gerdau-Ameristeel executives will be available for interviews to discuss this important development at the steel mill, which has operated in Knoxville for more than 130 years.
Ameristeel is located at 1919 Tennessee Ave., near Interstate 275. The mayor and City Council will also attend an 11:30 a.m. Tuesday luncheon hosted by Gerdau-Ameristeel at Club LeConte.
