A diverse collection of paintings, sculptures and multi-media works from Knoxville area artists was installed today at Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam's office at the City County Building. Crissy Haslam, the mayor's wife, initiated the project to showcase the array of talent that exists in the local arts community.

The Arts and Cultural Alliance asked its membership to lend pieces. The artwork will be changed out about every six months. "The mayor's office should reflect the creativity and diversity found in Knoxville and this gives us a chance to showcase those talents," Crissy Haslam said.

"We appreciate the artists lending their work for this effort." Liza Zenni and Victoria Lenne, of the Arts and Cultural Alliance, along with Crissy Haslam spent two hours arranging, hanging and placing a variety of work, including paintings in oil and watercolor, colorful digital photography, black and white photography, a handwoven tapestry, pottery and alabaster sculpture.
