The city of Knoxville will host a forum at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 24 at the Knoxville Museum of Art to review the public's suggestions and comments about the best uses of city-owned assets at the World's Fair Park.
The forum is part of a process Mayor Bill Haslam launched in April to review those assets, which include the Sunsphere, Tennessee Amphitheater, the Candy Factory, the Victorian Houses and the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center.
More than 100 responses were received during the six-week public input period that ended June 7 and more than 45 people attended two tours of the downtown park and its buildings.
At the public forum, city staff will present citizens' ideas, elicit reaction and hear additional comments.
"I appreciate the interest shown in World's Fair Park and am excited about the potential these buildings, should they be redeveloped or rehabilitated, have to add to the vitality of downtown," said Mayor Haslam.
