Knoxville Zoo is set to give a kiss to each visitor to the zoo Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The Hershey's Kissmobile cruiser is rolling into Knoxville Zoo to give away Hershey's Kisses brand milk chocolates to visitors. The 25-foot long Hershey's Kissmobile cruiser resembles three giant Hershey's Kisses. The Kissmobile comes equipped with a 42-inch, plasma flat screen TV, a DVD and sound system complete with karaoke. In addition, the Hershey's Kissmobile cruiser also has the capacity to store more than 230,000 Hershey's Kisses in a refrigerated compartment.
The Hershey's Kissmobile is just one of many activities happening during the Sept. 23-25 weekend. On Friday, Sept. 23, the zoo is hosting its annual You Too Can Do the Zoo event presented by Lambert's Healthcare. The event offers half-price admission and free parking to people with disabilities and one of their companions. Then on Sunday, Sept 25, the zoo is having a Hispanic Cultural Celebration. Knoxville Zoo is located off exit 392 from Interstate 40 and is open every day except Christmas Day. The zoo is nationally accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and well-being, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and ticket sales stop one hour before the zoo closes.
