Catch a movie in a park this summer and help build the new Knoxville Skate Park too. "Superman," starring Christopher Reeve, will be shown June 23 at The Cove at Concord Park, 11808 Northshore Drive.
The screening will be the first of four presented this summer - others will be July 14, again at The Cove, July 21 at Victor Ashe Park and Sept. 8 at World's Fair Park.
Pre-show antics starting at 7 p.m., and the movie will start at dusk. There will also be a Superman contest for kids; youth can dress up like Superman and the top 3 winners will win a prize.
Leashed dogs and lawn chairs are welcome. Refreshments will be sold, or you can bring your own food.
There's no admission charge, per se, but there's a parking donation/fee of $5 that will benefit Knoxville Skate Park.
Sponsors include the News Sentinel's Preview magazine, City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation, Knox County Parks and Recreation, Pepsi and Food City.
