This month it is easier to let your feet do the walking at Knoxville Zoo thanks to The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth.
The zoo and The Real Yellow Pages are partnering together to sponsor a phone book recycling program at the zoo. Beginning Jan. 9 through Jan 31, visitors can bring an outdated phone book to the zoo and receive special admission. For each outdated phone book, visitors will receive one free admission ticket with the purchase of another. Currently, the zoo is offering half-price admission for all visitors. Now is a great time to visit Knoxville Zoo. Animals are often more active and playful during cooler temperatures. Because zoo attendance is slower this time of year, the animals are often excited to see and interact with visitors.
The zoo is proud to be working with The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth as a location to recycle old phone books. Part of the zoo’s mission is to develop positive attitudes and actions about nature and conservation as a local and global issue. The zoo recycling program adds to BellSouth’s other numerous local recycling efforts across the Southeast. In addition, each copy of The Real Yellow Pages includes information on recycling, and each book is made from an average of 44 percent recycled materials. Sponsors include The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth, the city of Knoxville and SP Recycling. This promotion is not valid with any other coupon or offer and ends Jan. 31, 2006. Knoxville Zoo is located off exit 392 from Interstate 40 and is open every day except Christmas Day. The zoo is nationally accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and well-being, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission and ticket sales stop one hour before the zoo closes. Next-day admission is free after 3 p.m. For more information, please call 865.637.5331 ext. 300.
