Mayor Bill Haslam and Knox Housing Partnership officials are holding a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Knox Housing Partnership's NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 12 at 109 N. Winona Street.
The KHP's HomeOwnership Center offers a wealth of programs aimed at helping prospective homeowners in low-to-moderate income ranges turn the dream of owning a home into a reality.
Those programs include ones designed to help people find and purchase the right home in addition to learning how to properly insure and maintain it. The KHP also connects residents with the professionals in fields like real estate and insurance and housing counselors who can help them through the process.
In addition to educational services KHP also built five quality energy-efficient and reasonably-priced single family homes in the Five Points area last year. It will build five more there in 2008.
