Enjoy Comcast Christmas at Chilhowee Park on Friday, December 11 starting at 6:00 p.m.
Comcast is the title sponsor and creator of this event which began nine years ago. Mayor Bill Haslam; Russell Byrd, senior manager for government affairs for Comcast Cable; Shirley Nash Pitts of WVLT-TV and chairman of the City of Knoxville's Public Assembly Facilities Advisory Board; and Chris Prontzman with the Journal Broadcast Group will be speaking.
This free event turns Chilhowee Park into a Christmas Wonderland featuring dozens of lighted trees, including many floating in the lake, in addition to other attractions like free horse drawn carriage rides, free photos with Santa, marshmallow roasting, hot chocolate from the Salvation Army among other offerings. Singer Brad Blackwell will also perform during the event.In addition to Comcast other sponsors are WVLT-TV, The Knoxville News Sentinel, Q93.1 FM, Today’s Continuous Country and Mayfield Dairy Farms.Comcast Christmas in Chilhowee Park is part of Christmas in the City.
Nightly driving tours of the display will continue every night through January 1, 2010.
