In response to concerns of the disability community at the January 27, 2009 City Council meeting, Mayor Haslam suggested pulling together a group of people to discuss the proposed cuts to the KAT LIFT service and to explore possible alternatives. Councilman Woodhull agreed to take part in the discussions. City and KAT staff (Sam Anderson, Cindy McGinnis, Stephanie Cook, and Madeline Rogero) and Councilman Woodhull have worked with representatives of the Mayor's Council on Disability Issues (CODI) Transportation Committee (Tom Kahler and Bill Dockery) to plan and schedule this meeting.
The KAT LIFT Working Group will meet on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 5:30 PM in the Small Assembly room in the City-County Building at 400 Main Street. Participants in the Working Group will be city and KAT staff, Councilman Woodhull, transportation resource providers, and a representative group of KAT LIFT consumers and disability service providers identified by the CODI members on the planning committee. Madeline Rogero will facilitate the meeting.
The public is invited to attend and comment during the public forum.
