The City of Knoxville will hold a public meeting updating the status of construction of the ongoing Gay Street Streetscapes project at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 13 at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Conference Room at 17 Market Square.
City officials and contractors will review construction from the past month and discuss various issues with residents and business owners on the 100 Block of Gay Street. The 18- month-long Gay Street Streetscapes project involves the much-needed repair and reconstruction work on the underground structures supporting the block in addition to utility upgrades.
The $3.5 million project also includes the replacement of the street and both sidewalks as well as streetscape improvements.
