With activities at nearly every downtown venue on Friday, including the Christmas Parade, First Friday events, and performances at the Tennessee Theater and the Bijou, attendees should consider carpooling or taking KAT downtown.
Getting there: Knoxville residents along Broadway, Central Avenue, Chapman Highway, Kingston Pike, Magnolia Avenue, Washington Pike and others have evening access to and from downtown via KAT. Buses run every hour, with more frequent service during peak rush hours on many routes.
Getting home: Those routes mentioned above and others run late into the evening with departures from downtown at :15 after each hour, with the last trip from the transit center leaving at 11:15 p.m.
All downtown routes drop at Knoxville Station - the city's new transit center, which is a 5-minute walk to The Tennessee or Bijou Theaters, or an 8-10 minute walk to Market Square. Security and supervisory personnel are available at Knoxville Station to assist passengers with questions.
