Annual Neighborhood Bike Ride Celebrates 10 Years

Posted: 09/22/2010
This year, the Neighborhood Bike Ride will mark its 10th annual ride on Saturday, October 2. As a nod to the first Neighborhood Bike Ride, this year's route will include a portion of 4th & Gill as well as Old North, Parkridge, Old City and Mechanicsville.

Free bike safety checks start at 9 a.m. and the ride leaves at 10 a.m.

Riders should meet at the corner of Central Street and Baxter Avenue. The ride will return just in time for participants to enjoy the Happy Hollerpalooza festival.

This beginner, family-friendly ride is less than 12 miles long. All ages and skill levels are welcome and helmets are required.

Free parking is available at the Knox Central Building, 1000 N. Central Street.

The Neighborhood Bike Ride is sponsored by the City of Knoxville and the Knoxville Regional Bicycle Program.

More information is available at www.knoxtrans.org or by calling 865-215-3815.
