On Wednesday, Mayor Haslam presented a proclamation to the Dogwood Arts Festival declaring the month of April as Dogwood Arts Festival Month.
The Dogwood Arts Festival was created in 1961 to showcase the natural beauty Knoxville is blessed with each spring.
The Dogwood Arts Festival's perennial return is a tradition that East Tennessee has grown to cherish.
It is a celebration of the region’s natural beauty as well as its rich cultural and artistic offerings in all their vast varieties.
From art fairs to Americana music concerts, outdoor sculptures to open gardens in full bloom, each Festival-goer can create his or her own aesthetic adventure.
There are activities for artists and art-appreciators of all ages, so bring the whole family out to play.
