Join the Water Quality Forum, Keep Knoxville Beautiful and its other community partners on March 20th, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for our annual watershed CPR (Clean, Protect, & Restore) clean-up event! We'll be at several sites throughout Knoxville and Knox County helping to remove debris in neighborhoods, along roadways, and in our stream corridors.
The conditions of our waterways directly affect all of us - the places where we play, the vitality of our economy and the health of our community members. Sadly, hundreds of tons of waste are dumped along streams or in areas where the trash can easily make its way through our stormwater system to our waterways. Every year the Water Quality Forum involves hundreds of volunteers in CPR, with a combined total in its 13 year history of over 2000 volunteers having removed over 100 tons of waste!
This year we are asking folks to once again step up to give CPR to sites in desperate need of help! So please come join us, for even just an hour, and lend a helping hand to continue the legacy of CPR as an event that truly makes a difference in our community. We will have all the necessary equipment that you need to stay safe; just dress to get dirty and bring yourself! The first 50 volunteers at each site will get a free t-shirt! CPR is also participating in Disney's "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." community service campaign, so all volunteers are eligible for a free ticket to Disney Parks if you sign up in advance.
In the event of inclement weather, this event will be held the following Saturday on March 27th, 2010.
