The City of Knoxville's Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed plans for the renovation of Inskip Park on Monday, January 11, in the Adair Building at 1807 Adair Dr.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
The planned renovation of Inskip Park, located at 4204 Bruhin Rd., is the result of Pilot Corporation's $1 million gift to the city in late 2008 to improve and expand city parks. The gift was in honor of the company's 50th anniversary and a $250,000 portion of it will be used for the improvements to Inskip Park.
Monday's meeting will include a presentation of the proposed renovation plan, which was designed by Carol R Johnson Associates, Inc., based on the responses of neighborhood residents to a survey last fall seeking input on possible park upgrades.
The 12-acre Inskip Pool and Park currently features four shelters, a sand volleyball court, a playground, four tennis courts, and open space. The pool is the largest outdoor pool in the Parks and Recreation Department.
