Every person in Knox County can have a positive impact on the health and well being of our children by helping them stay active, encouraging healthy eating habits and promoting healthy choices. For 83 years Child Health Week has stressed the lifelong benefits of keeping our children healthy. Knox County Health Department (KCHD) and its partners will kick off Child Health week on Monday, Oct. 4 at 8:30 a.m. with a pep rally and interactive learning sessions at Sam E. Hill Preschool at 1725 Delaware Avenue in Knoxville.
Former Olympian and fitness enthusiast/media personality Miss Kane will lead the Sam E. Hill "Bears" (kids) in a rousing Healthy Youth Healthy Future pep rally. Then, at 9:15, the preschoolers will have an opportunity to practice health in action with three interactive learning stations; Get Hopping to Good Health, Germ Busters, Going Ape for Fruits and Veggies and Snazzy Smiles.
