Recruitment Video Production Earns Employee Special Honor

Posted: 12/27/2010
Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen named Eric Miller the September Civilian Employee of the Month for the Knoxville Police Department. Mr. Miller is an Audio / Video Technician and has been with the department since April 2008. Mr. Miller is responsible for maintenance of the in-car cameras in addition to fulfilling the many requests for tape duplications.

To help recruit potential new officers at recruiting events, KPD Recruiting Officer Sam Henard asked Eric about making a video to show during these events that highlights the activities and various units throughout the department. Eric was able to gather material, edit the footage, and produce a quality video.

Chief Owen said, "Not only did Eric produce a great video, he was quick and efficient using his personal time and equipment. Eric handled the task quickly and professionally. His actions are a great example of someone stepping up and performing duties outside of their normal day to day obligations."

The video continues to receive numerous compliments from potential new employees. Mayor Haslam said, "Eric has demonstrated the level of commitment and work that helps make this department such a great place to work. Congratulations on a job well done."
