Baxter Ave. Closed for Utility Construction

Posted: 08/18/2011
KUB and its contractor will implement a continuous road closure on a section of Baxter Avenue, between Val Street and Lee Street, starting on Thursday, August 18, and lasting through Saturday, August 27, for utility construction in this area. Traffic will be detoured around the work zone via Marion Street and Bernard Avenue. Access to area businesses will remain open during this period.

This work will take place daily from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.; however, the road closure will be in effect continuously during this period due to roadway excavation and the ongoing presence of construction equipment.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in this area.

KUB is a municipal utility serving Knox and parts of seven adjacent counties and provides electric, gas, water, and wastewater services to more than 439,000 customers.
