Cart Roll Out Event Celebrates Curbside Recycling

Posted: 09/09/2011
The City of Knoxville hosted a Cart Roll Out event on Friday, September 9, on the 1000 block of Luttrell Street in the Fourth & Gill Neighborhood to celebrate the City's new household recycling program. A ceremonial ribbon cutting was held.

Recycling carts are being delivered to those who signed-up for the new curbside service in neighborhoods across the City from now until September 16. The delivery of carts to those who signed-up by August 14, marks the last major step before the City begins the much-anticipated single-stream household recycling program the first of October.

To date, approximately 17,000 households in Knoxville have signed p for the new recycling program leaving an additional 3,000 available slots. Sign-ups continue online at www.doyourpartwiththecart.com or by calling 311.

For more information on the City of Knoxville's household recycling program, or to sign-up, call 311 or visit www.doyourpartwiththecart.com.
