Young-Williams Animal Center's toy chest is nearly empty, and animal center officials are asking for donations of dog and cat toys. In addition to pet toys, the public can donate old or new children's stuffed toys for the center's adoptable animals to play with.

"Our hope is always that animals don't stay with us too long before being adopted," said Tim Adams of Young-Williams Animal Center. "But, while they are here, we want them to have everything they need including toys to play with, which help them get exercise and socialize with other animals as well as help teething puppies and other young pets learn to chew on appropriate items."

Donations should be dropped off to Young-Williams Animal Center located off of Sutherland Avenue at 3201 Division St. and can be delivered during business hours Monday-Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m.
