For those of you following our progress through our website and live cams, we are having some technical difficulties. We are attempting to pinpoint the problem and hope they will be back on line soon. Please be patient. These cameras are great to watch, but have no impact on our progress on the Henley Bridge project which is continuing at a steady pace.
The contractor is concentrating on the middle span over the navigation channel at this time.
If you travel Gay Street, you can look over and actually see portions of the bridge deck missing. It is fascinating to see this historic bridge disappear, but on the other hand, you can also see the bridge being reconstructed on both abutment ends.
Due to inclement weather, the crossover work on Neyland Drive continues. We expect the actual traffic switch to now take place sometime in the middle of next week.
Be very careful traveling through this area and pay close attention to the signage and traffic control devices. The speed limit through this area has been reduced to 35 MPH, and will be strictly enforced for your protection and that of the contractor's employees.
If you have questions concerning the bridge or need maps or brochures, please feel free to stop by the Henley Community Center Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 865-577-6988. To find out more about the project, detours, Henley Bridge history and to view the project cameras you can visit
