Work on the Henley Bridge has resumed with demolition activities still taking place over the eastbound lane of Neyland Drive.
At the present time the Greenway under the bridge is still closed, but as soon as work is shifted north, traffic will return on Neyland east and the Greenway will once again be opened.
There is a uniformed police officer on duty at the site. If anyone is caught walking through the work zone or climbing the Greenway fence, and/or utilizing the railroad tracks to get to the other side, they are subject to a trespassing citation. This is done for your safety.
The contractor will be working longer hours during the week and on most Saturdays.
In a few months, the arches will be the only thing remaining on the Henley Bridge.
If you have questions concerning the bridge or need maps or brochures, please feel free to stop by the Henley Community Center Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 865-577-6988. To find out more about the project, detours, Henley Bridge history and to view the project cameras you can visit
