Henley Bridge Week Eight Progress

Utility relocation (gas and water) continues on the north end of the bridge in the Henley/Hill Ave. intersection and the intersection of Chapman Highway/Blount Ave. on the south end. Completion of these operations should be completed by March 7th.

Traffic counts for the signals at the various intersections on the detour and alternate routes are expected to be complete by March 4th. The data collected from these studies will be utilized in making the final signal adjustments in order to create a more efficient traffic flow around the bridge closure.

Bridge demolition still continues with both the north and south approach spans being removed.

The removal of the deck railing and overhang concrete is ongoing and progressing as planned. You can actually the see the bridge slowly disappear.

Reconstruction of the south end approach span supports and columns continues. Completion of this operation at this location should be completed by March 4th. Afterwards, the construction crews will mobilize to the north end to commence similar operations.
