The Knoxville Fire Department's Local 65 Firefighters Union will present a check totaling $13,110.00 to Mayor Brown on Thursday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Local 65 Firefighters Union located at614 N. Central St., Knoxville, TN 37917.
Local 65 will again sponsor the "Learn Not To Burn" program by presenting a check for $13,110.00 to the City Of Knoxville Fire Department.
This program reaches over 1,500 pre-school aged children a year, teaching them fire safety.
In the past Local 65 has purchased smoke detectors, thermal imaging cameras, a portable fire safety house, 4x4 gator carts that are used during special events such as Booms Day and street fairs, and most recently presented a check for $6,500.00 to victims of the East Towne Village Apartment fire.
