Mayor Brown met with representatives from the Department of Children's Services on Monday, November 21 to present them with a proclamation.
The Mayor proclaimed the month of November in the City of Knoxville as "Adoption Awareness Month."
There are at least 100 children in state custody in Knoxville/Knox County who are eligible for adoption.
Approximately 130 children were adopted by loving and caring families in Knoxville/Knox County last year through the Department of Children's Services.
