Zoo Camp at Knoxville Zoo offers an unique summer camp experience. With everything from animal tales to discovering what it's like to run your very own zoo, Zoo Camp is a one-of-a-kind way for kids to experience the zoo.
Zoo Camp programs are offered for preschoolers through eighth-graders, and campers will make some wild new friends as they get up close to some of the zoo's friendly animal residents. Program topics range from thrilling animal stories and hometown wildlife to creating enrichment items for zoo animals and meeting zoo keepers to learn about the animals they care for.
Zoo Camp offers weekly sessions beginning May 23 through July 29, starting at 9:00 a.m. daily. Each camp program is uniquely designed to appeal to the interests of the developmental stage of each age group, ensuring an entertaining week of discovery and fun.
Zoo Camp fees are $125 per week for pre-school and kindergarten sessions, $135 for first through fifth grade sessions, and $145 for sixth through eighth grade sessions. Zoo members receive a $10 discount on registration fees. Advanced registration is required and reservations can be made by calling (865) 637-5331 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Knoxville Zoo is Knoxville's largest year-round attraction. Located off exit 392A from Interstate 40, the zoo is open every day except Christmas Day. Knoxville Zoo is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and well-being, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission and ticket sales stop one-hour before the zoo closes.
