The City will present a ribbon-cutting for the new solar array at the Knoxville Convention Center and will announce a energy-saving initiative on Wednesday, July 11 at 10 a.m.
Mayor Madeline Rogero and officials from the Department of Energy and SMG, which operates the Convention Center, will celebrate the installation of the Convention Center's solar array.
Mayor Rogero will also announce the City's participation in a national energy-efficiency program that aims to reduce the City's energy consumption.
