The John J. Duncan Jr. Knoxville Station Transit Center on Church Avenue won the Grand Iris Award in March for excellence in engineering. It is the highest honor bestowed the state chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies. The award went to the City's contractor, CDMSmith.
In a ceremony on Monday, May 14, officials from CDMSmith presented the trophy to their partners in the project.
Mayor Madeline Rogero joined Dale Smith, CEO of the Public Building Authority; Cindy McGinnis, General Manager of Knoxville Area Transit; and Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr.
