With spring approaching next month, and local residents already beginning to anticipate the season of lawn and garden work, City of Knoxville Public Service crews will return to regular biweekly brush collection schedules beginning this week. This means the biweekly leaf collections that began in October are complete, and regular two-week brush collection is now available to City residents.
Household yard waste should be placed next to the street in unobstructed areas away from mailboxes, utility poles, water spigots or similar items. Brush must be kept separate from other trash or debris. On each two-week cycle, an approximate 6' x 6' x 6' pile of brush can be collected. Last year, the City collected over 33,000 tons of yard waste.
For a brush collection schedule, call 311, the City's information line.
