Mayor Madeline Rogero joined newly elected City Council members as they were sworn into office Saturday, Dec. 21 in the Main Assembly Room.
First District Councilman Nick Pavlis was sworn in by Honorable Tom Varlan, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
Second District Councilman Duane Grieve was sworn in by Honorable John Rosson, Municipal Judge of Knoxville.
Third District Councilwoman Brenda Palmer was sworn in by Honorable Steven Sword, Knox County Criminal Court Judge, Division 1.
Fourth District Councilman Nick Della Volpe was sworn in by Honorable John Rosson, Municipal Judge of Knoxville.
Sixth District Councilman and former Mayor Daniel Brown was sworn in by Honorable Mark Brown, Knox County General Sessions Court Magistrate.
Reverend Richard L. Richter, Jr from Hillcrest United Methodist Church led the invocation. Boy Scout Troop #6 from Second Presbyterian Church led the presentation of colors and pledge of allegiance. Emily Campen sang the National Anthem and Reverend Michael McNair of First African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church led the benediction.
