The Tennessee Solar Energy Association (TSEA) is leading the 2013 Knoxville Solar Tour, a bus tour of a variety of solar arrays throughout the Knoxville area from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The day will kick off in the public meeting room of the Knoxville Station Transit Center (301 E. Church Ave.) with a discussion on solar applications for residents and business owners.
Following the meeting, attendees will board a bus and travel to a number of area solar installations.
The first 35 attendees will be able to board the bus to view solar photovoltaic arrays at 5 sites:
Knoxville Civic Coliseum parking garage University of Tennessee Bearden Beer Market Calhoun's in Turkey Creek Twin Willows subdivision
Attendees additional to the first 35 are welcome to join the tour in their personal vehicles. The group will stop for lunch in Turkey Creek, and attendees are welcome to dine in the restaurants at Turkey Creek or bring a lunch with them.
The tour will finish at Knoxville Station Transit Center at 2:30 p.m.
The tour is cosponsored by TSEA and the City of Knoxville. The event is free and open to the public.
