The ribbon cutting to open Loves Creek Greenway, which was canceled Aug. 1 due to rain, has been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 5.
Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett will host the ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Loves Creek Greenway, which is located within City limits and begins at the Knox County-owned Spring Place Park.
Built in-house by City of Knoxville crews, the trail is approximately a half-mile of crushed limestone and is the first phase for the greenway plan that will eventually reach from Spring Place to New Harvest Park.
Media may park in the parking lot of Spring Place Park. The public is asked to park at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, 3701 Kinzel Way, due to limited parking. A shuttle will be provided to the greenway.
