On Tuesday, July 16 at 5:30 p.m. City officials and consultants will hold a public meeting on the feasibility study for a possible pedestrian bridge at the World's Fair Park.
The meeting will be held in the commons of the L&N STEM Academy located at 401 Henley St.
City officials and consultants will present a study of a possible World's Fair Park pedestrian bridge, and provide an opportunity for public comment and questions. The consultant team includes CDM Smith, CRJA and Sanders Pace Architecture.
The Knoxville Museum of Art (KMA) consulted with Sasaki Associates in 2009 to create a vision plan that looked at new uses for the spaces around the museum and its connectivity to the neighborhood and adjacent City facilities. The goal of the current feasibility study is to determine the viability of a proposed pedestrian connection from World's Fair Park to the Fort Sanders Neighborhood at 11th Street. This proposed connection includes several grade obstacles including a pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks, with ADA accessibility to the park below, and a 15-foot elevation difference through the parking lot between KMA and 11th Street.
The meeting is open to the general public.
Anyone needing a disability accommodation in order to attend the meeting can contact City ADA Coordinator Stephanie Brewer Cook at 215-2034 or
