The City of Knoxville's Urban Forester Kasey Krouse and first-grade students at Lonsdale Elementary will plant a cherry tree outside the school on Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m.
This will be an educational opportunity to demonstrate proper planting and discuss the importance of trees with the Lonsdale students.
Four oak trees were planted earlier at a park adjacent to the school.
Students at Christenberry Elementary planted trees on Monday.
City Councilmembers Finbarr Saunders and Mark Campen have provided $900 for the plantings through their Community Improvement (202) funds.
