February 19, 2014 - Mayor Madeline Rogero made the following board appointments in January:
Jennifer Stone, appointed to the Board of Environmental Appeals. Stone is employed by AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, Inc., and is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Tennessee and Virginia. She has more than 14 years of experience in transportation, construction, geotechnical, and environmental engineering. Her term runs through Nov. 1, 2019.
The Board of Environmental Appeals allows any person who receives a civil penalty or damage assessment from the Stormwater Engineering Division to appeal the action.
Liliana Burbano Bonilla, appointed to the board of the Knoxville Transportation Authority. She is employed by the Knox County Health Department as the Project Coordinator of the Healthy Kids Healthy Communities Program. She also oversees the Safe Routes to School Program in the Lonsdale Community. Burbano Bonilla, originally from Bogota, Colombia, earned a Master's Degree in Sociology from the Ibero-American University in Mexico City. Her KTA term runs through Dec. 31, 2017.
The Knoxville Transportation Authority serves as the policy-making board for all for-hire intra-city passenger transportation services including: bus transit service, taxicabs, and private for-hire transportation services.
