ET Development Symposium to be Held Nov. 4-5

Posted: 10/24/2014
October 24, 2014 - Knox County Stormwater Management and the City of Knoxville Stormwater Engineering Division are teaming up with the Tennessee Stormwater Association and Town of Farragut Stormwater Matters water quality program to host the 2014 East Tennessee Development Symposium on Nov. 4-5 at the Knoxville Convention Center. Registration costs $100 and includes meals. Deadline to register is Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The two-day event is an opportunity for participants to network with hundreds of professionals and share knowledge, lessons learned and best practices in the development field. Attendees will include land developers, civil and environmental engineers, landscape architects and consultants, professionals from the real-estate and banking industries, land-use planners, local and state government stormwater managers, policy-makers, administrators and regulators.

Throughout the symposium, participants will learn about new runoff reduction requirements for developments across the state. Additionally, local real-estate agents will discuss the economic benefits of low-impact development. Presentation topics include surveying, planning, design, construction, economics of low-impact development, BMP maintenance and regulatory compliance and policies.

The conference has grown over the years from the City of Knoxville's development seminar to a more wide-reaching event. In 2013, Knox County partnered with the City of Knoxville to hold the first Tennessee Stormwater Association East Tennessee Development Symposium, which attracted more than 250 attendees.
