November 6, 2014 - Knoxville's 89th annual Veterans Day Parade will pay tribute to our nation's military heroes on Tuesday morning, Nov. 11.
The parade will start at 10:40 a.m. at the Knoxville Coliseum, heading up Howard H. Baker Jr. Avenue to Church Street, then turning right and following Gay Street to Depot Avenue.
At 11 a.m., all parade participants will halt and face west while honors are rendered at the reviewing stand for veterans of all our country's wars.
The parade is sponsored by the City of Knoxville and American Legion Post 2.
Road closures will be in place to accommodate the parade, along with some temporary no-parking zones.
There will be rolling closures along the length of the parade route, and Gay Street will be a no-parking zone beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Market Street between Union and Clinch avenues will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Temporary no-parking zones begin at 8 a.m.
Union Avenue between Walnut and Gay Street also will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Temporary no-parking zones begin at 8 a.m.
