Waste Connections, the City of Knoxville's household garbage and recycling collector, will be closed Friday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday.
The downtown trash and recycling will not be picked up on Friday, Dec. 25. Collections will resume on Saturday, Dec. 26. Downtown trash and recycling will run on its regular schedule on January 1. There will be no residential garbage or recycling collection on Friday, Dec. 25. Collection will resume on Saturday, Dec. 26 and pick-up will be one day behind the regular schedule.
Waste Connections will run residential garbage and recycling routes on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016. Trash and recycling routes will run as usual the week of Dec. 28, 2015 through Jan. 1, 2016.
The City's recycling centers will be open for recycling use but the Goodwill attendant will not be available for household goods donations on Friday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Jan 1, 2016.
The City’s Solid Waste Management Facility, 1033 Elm St., will be closed Friday, Dec. 25, Saturday, Dec. 26, Friday, Jan. 1, and Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016.
In addition, all City offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Jan. 1, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
