Community leaders and employers, mark your calendar: A “Community Conversation” to discuss strategies for supporting the employment of people with disabilities is scheduled for 6-8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Embassy Suites, 9621 Parkside Drive.
Mayor Madeline Rogero is among the speakers at this informal “Community Conversation,” during which participants will explore innovative ideas and collectively strategize on ways to increase meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Sponsors include the Knoxville Area Employment Consortium, Tennesseeworks and Vanderbilt Kennedy Center. Organizers hope for a diverse turnout of participants representing business, government, educators, service providers, nonprofit agencies, faith communities and individuals with disabilities and their families.
