City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation has announced that youth
basketball tournament games originally scheduled this week and canceled
because of weather will resume on Monday, March 2.
"Obviously the weather threw off our schedule for this year's City youth
tournament," said Joe Walsh, Knoxville Parks and Recreation Director.
"Our athletics office has been diligently working to continue to provide
a quality tournament in a timely manner convenient to participants and
their families."
City youth basketball league tournaments involve considerable
coordination, as the City brings together teams from all parts of
Knoxville, beginning with 96 teams. At this stage, there are 52 teams
remaining.
Outstanding games will be played Monday through Friday. Games will be
played in eight gyms (seven City recreation centers and the Knoxville
Adaptive Education Center).
The City youth basketball league has eight divisions:
