Work is underway on the eastern end of Island Home Avenue, where Empire Construction has closed a section of the road and commenced with installation of cross drains - utility work that is associated with the River's Edge Apartments development.
The 134-unit apartment complex - one-, two- and three-bedroom units in five buildings - is being constructed on the east end of Island Home Avenue, near the Island Home Park neighborhood.
Island Home Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Sevier Avenue and Maplewood Drive for the next couple of months.
