KUB crews will close the intersection of Hill Avenue and Walnut Street starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, until 6 a.m. on Friday, May 1, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Multiple Upgrade Project. Walnut Street between Neyland Drive and Hill Avenue will be closed to facilitate the closure of the intersection, as will Hill Street between Locust Street and Gay Street. The work will take place during the overnight hours, with parking garage access maintained during the day. Please see the attached map for more detailed information. Alternate routes include Henley Street, Main Street, S. Central Street, and Neyland Drive.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
