KUB will have the following lane closures due to utility maintenance:

Middlebrook Pike Intermittent Lane Closure  [August 1] – KUB crews will implement intermittent lane closures on a short section of the curbside, westbound lane of Middlebrook Pike between Dowell Springs Boulevard and Old Weisgarber Road from 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, August 1, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. 

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – State Street Road Closure [EXTENDED August 3-21] – KUB crews will close a short section of State Street between Clinch Avenue and W. Church Avenue from  6 a.m. Monday, August 3, through 6 p.m. Friday, August 21, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. As part of this work, crews will be working in Journal Place between S. Gay Street and State Street. Alternate routes include W. Church Avenue, S. Gay Street, Union Avenue, and S. Central Street. Motorists should follow all traffic signs in the area. Please see attached map for more information. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

South Northshore Drive Intermittent Lane Closures [Weekdays, August 3 – September 20] – Utility work continues along South Northshore Drive as improvements are made to KUB's natural gas and water distribution systems in the area. Motorists are advised to be aware of the ongoing presence of construction vehicles and equipment in an area between Myart Lane and Lyons View Pike daily, Monday-Friday, throughout the months of August and September. When necessary, the contractor will use flaggers and traffic control measures to implement intermittent short term lane closures to facilitate the safe movement of motorists and construction equipment through the work zone. This work is expected to last through Fall 2015. 

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Locust Street Road Closures [August 4-5] – KUB and its contractor will close a short section of Locust Street between W. Hill Avenue and Front Avenue from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, Tuesday, August 4, and Wednesday, August 5, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Alternate routes include W. Hill Avenue, State Street, Cumberland Avenue, and S. Central Street. State Street between Cumberland Avenue and Main Street will be available as alternate route during this work. Motorists should follow all traffic signs and flaggers in the area. Please see attached map for more information. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution, and expect temporary delays in these areas.
