KUB crews will reduce a short section of Wells Drive to one alternating lane of traffic between Brickyard Road and Commerce Road from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area.
Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Front Avenue Road Closure [June 1-15] – KUB and its contractor will close Front Avenue between South Broadway and Locust Street to through traffic starting at 7 a.m., Monday, June 1, through Monday, June 15, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project.
Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – South Gay Street Lane Closures [EXTENDED June 1-15] – KUB and its contractor will maintain a closure of three lanes of South Gay Street on a one block section between W. Church Avenue and Cumberland Avenue, starting 7 a.m., Monday, June 1, through Monday, June 15, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. The two southbound lanes and one northbound lane will be closed. One northbound lane of traffic will remain open to through traffic on this section of South Gay Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured via West Church Avenue, Locust Street, and Main Street. During all work, NO on street parking will be allowed in the work zone.
Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Walnut Street Road Closure [EXTENDED June 1-15] – KUB and it contractor will maintain a closure of Walnut Street between the City County Building parking garage and West Hill Avenue starting at 7 a.m. Monday, June 1, until Monday, June 15, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. Traffic to the garage may use the entrance on Walnut Street, and all exiting traffic will be directed onto West Hill Avenue. Paving crews will be onsite Monday, June 1, to restore Walnut Street between West Hill Avenue and Main Street, which will then fully reopen to traffic.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
