Waste Connections, the City of Knoxville's household garbage and recycling collector, is closed Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day Holiday.
Downtown trash and recyclables will run on a regular schedule Sept 7. The city's recycling centers will be open for recycling; however, the Goodwill Industries attendant will not be available for household goods donations on Monday, Sept 7.
Trash and recycling pick-up will be one day behind schedule through the rest of the week. Residents that normally have pick-up on Friday will be serviced on Saturday.
The City’s Solid Waste Management Facility located at 1033 Elm St. will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Monday, Sept. 7.
In addition, all City offices will be closed Sept. 7 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
